Client: A&E (Arts & Entertainment TV) On Demand digital cable.

Challenge: Designing UI – UX within the restrictions of the various set top digital boxes. Creating an easy intuitive navigation.

Approach Taken:
Moved the navigation into a graphic tiled hot spot, moving out of the pre-set historical navigating of selecting a number (1-4) to launch the selected option.

1) researched various A&E content options; select most provoking content via web; created TV interactive interface to push up archived content, current broadcast content, and revenue spot for advertisers relevant to content.

Multiple layers promoting TV content, internet content, and promotional adverts. High end promotional content created to promote commercial adverts linked directly to specific TV Content: i.e. A&E TV content links with Biography Magazine and online Egypt shopping; Biography ‘Ernest Shackleton’ links with Travel to Antartica travel agent.

Tools used: Designed/created graphics in Photoshop, built HTML (Dreamweaver) prototypes navigating through content pages.

High end Wireframes (built within set top digital cable box limitations):
– These prototypes where client facing
– also used by the software engineers as reference to code the TV interaction
– and by sales and marketing departments to engage endorsements and profitable funding
