Client: Comcast on Demand UI UX

Challenge the team had: (3 graphic designers) develop a IU and UX attractive innovative interface breaking away from the common list navigation. Condensing the experience for ease of access, limited page changes, with respect to the limitations with various set top digital cable boxes.

Approach taken: design spec meeting, brain storm session to review the limitations, set objectives and deadlines, Agile methods; each designer (3) was given a specific section to research, develop, design and build. Created all assets needed for final DVD production.

Tools used: Illustrator and Photoshop; internet for research

Outcome: As one of the 3 designers, I was tasked with researching A&E, Biography, Discovery Channels content and develop attractive provocative graphic navigation tiles. Also as one of the designers I was tasked with re-thinking ( IU, UX ) the Comcast TV Guide interactive menu and improve, enhance and promote the On Demand options. The users’ experience was lost in a sea of endless TV listings. Needed to re-think how to quickly access VOD content directly from the menu guide.

Bonus Outcome: These designs were part of a US Patent and helped to secure $65M corporate funding.
